Budarin State Wildlife Refuge - created in 1967. The area of the reserve is 80,000 hectares. The reserve is located in the West Kazakhstan region, Akzhaik and Zelenovsky districts. The main task of the reserve is the protection of waterfowl lake birds and upland game, settlement in artificial reservoirs of the Ural-Kushum irrigation system. Biosphere Reserve "Voronezhsky" is located in two regions of the Russian Federation (Lipetsk and Voronezh regions) and five municipalities (Usmansky, Verhne-Khavsky, Ramonsky, Novousmansky municipal districts and the Railway urban district of Voronezh city). Many rural settlements are located directly at the borders of the BR.

Located in the eastern part of the country, this biosphere reserve includes the largest preserved complex of floodplains in Slovenia, where the interweaving of natural factors and human presence has created an exceptional cultural riverine landscape. The main sources of income for residents are agriculture, industry, forestry and tourism.
