“Working together to protect the Tweed and its tributaries” : Tweed Forum was formed in 1991 "to promote the sustainable use of the whole of the Tweed catchment through holistic and integrated management and planning". In close partnership with our members, Tweed Forum works to protect, enhance and restore the rich natural, built and cultural heritage of the River Tweed and its tributaries.

The Onon River, which flows through Mongolian territory into the Amur through the Shilka River, is an important catchment area forming the headwaters of the Amur/Heilong River - the longest undammed river in the Eastern Hemisphere.
