The Flint River Watershed Coalition is a membership organization that promotes citizen stewardship of our natural resources by providing our members with the sources, knowledge, and capacity necessary to protect local water quality and watershed habitat.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council monitors rivers, lakes, tidal, rainfall, meteorological and air quality sites throughout the Bay of Plenty. The majority of these sites are telemetered i.e. the data from them is transmitted back to base via the radio or phone network.
