Takshanuk Watershed Council
The Takshanuk Watersheds have supported local residents for thousands of years with a rich and abundant fishery. Five species of pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus sp.) have evolved in the mountainous landscape over thousands of years. The Chilkat, Chilkoot and Ferebee Rivers flow from headwaters in British Columbia and the Yukon Territories of Canada, into the fjords of the Upper Lynn Canal.

The Miami Conservancy District (MCD)
The Miami Conservancy District's (MCD) core mission is flood protection. Over the years, the organization has branched out to meet the region’s water needs. Today, MCD is working hard to help preserve the quality of our water through monitoring, testing and education. MCD staff provides city and county officials with extensive water monitoring and water analysis, and educates and involves citizens in protecting their local water resources.
