Sharing Knowledge - Raising Awareness - Bridging River's Advocates

Heart of the Fraser

BCIT Rivers Institute Chair Emeritus, Mark Angelo, and renowned river scientist Marvin Rosenau with students from the BCIT Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Program examine the importance of the Heart of the Fraser. This is the beautiful stretch of the river running between the BC towns of Hope and Mission - an area facing extensive development pressures in light of its close proximity to greater Vancouver. This particular story focuses on the quest for knowledge and the applied research taking place on this section of the river. This research is aimed at quantifying the value of key off-channel habitats near the Fraser.
