Project & Progress in the Yahara River Watershed

2013 was the first year of implementation for the Yahara CLEAN Strategic Action Plan for Reducing Phosphorus, which aims to reduce the phosphorus load to each Yahara lake by 50%, or 46,000 pounds. This in turn should cause a major reduction in the number of toxic algae blooms, and double the number of days when the lakes are clear and beaches are open.
